The main focus of MarCom09 congress was on attracting visitors to your website. User Intelligence extended this topic with a presentation given by Mark Kassteen on the 4th of June named ‘A visitor is landing on your website. Now what?‘. This presentation addressed the importance of turning online visitors into customers (conversion and retention).
Summary of the Presentation
Many clients and companies are busy generating traffic to their website. Attracting visitors is essential, but it’s definitely not the only thing you should do! You also have to make sure that the visitors will have a great experience on your website, otherwise they will never turn into valuable customers.
So, how do you create a good experience?
- The first step is to understand your visitors. Since this is the first and most important step, our company is called User Intelligence!
- The next step is to design your website based on these insights and on your business goals. During this design process, it is essential that you evaluate your prototypes with actual visitors.
- The final step is actually not a single step; it is the continuous optimization of the website based on customer feedback and business results.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? However, we all know that taking these steps is not that easy. If only there was a company that could help you ;)…
