The fifth Europian IA conference will be held in Copenhagen on September 24 - 26 2009. User Intelligence is set to deliver two presentations and participate in a panel discussion during the main conference.
For one of the presentations, Chris and Jacco are looking for additional input from the fields of Interaction Design, Information Architecture and User Experience design.
Request for input
More and more, User Experience designers are creating new types of documents to show structure and navigation of a website, replacing the traditional sitemap. Chris Pierson and Jacco Nieuwland will be talking about this in "Evolution of the sitemap".
To inform, verify and illustrate their findings, Chris and Jacco are looking for as many examples as possible of these new deliverables. They're interested in any type of document that provides some sort of high-level structural overview of the website, the possible interactions and possible navigation. Other names of these types of documents could be 'user flows', 'scenarios', 'storyboards', 'state maps', etc. If you have anything that you feel could add to their presentation, please send nieuwland
userintelligence [dot] com (Jacco) and/or pierson
userintelligence [dot] com (Chris) an email with your example(s)! Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Showing deliverables is sometimes difficult because of the confidential nature of the information displayed. But maybe there are some older examples, or anonymized versions of deliverables that you'd feel comfortable in sharing with the IA/ID community in Europe. Even if they cannot publish your example, they would love to hear about your thoughts around this subject!
Other activities
The other presentation, by Adam Cox and Martijn Klompenhouwer, is called "Combining methods: User Research and Web Analytics" and focuses on combining Web Analytics and User Research to inform the User Experience design process. Furthermore, Mark Kassteen will be joining the panel discussion "A thin white line - Discussing professional UX practice in Europe".
And of course, we will be hosting the conference kick-off drink, together with FatDUX. More details on the time & location of the drinks will be published soon. A great way to meet almost all of User Intelligence's partners and employees from both Amsterdam and Helsinki.
