EuroIA Copenhagen

The fifth EuroIA conference on Information Architecture was held this September in Copenhagen, Denmark. This year’s theme was “Beyond Structure” and there were about 150 UX professionals present.

The keynote opening was by Scott Thomas (aka SimpleScott), the former Design Director for Obama's campaign for the presidency. It provided a very interesting peek into how design was used across different channels for the incredibly successful online campaign (“yes we did!”). Reviews on this presentation and the rest of the program can be found on Johnny Holland's Magazine and the website of James Kelway.

Some of the presentations can be found on Slideshare, such as:
- Bridging Media
- The IA Survival Guide in a Hostile Context
- Cheap and Efficient Tools
- Designing Exploding Websites

Obviously, User Intelligence was active at the conference as well! We were present with 14 people from the Amsterdam & Helsinki offices and delivered two presentations (e.g. Combining Web Analytics and User Research and Evolution of the Sitemap), participated in a panel and shared a deliverable during the "IA Jam". In addition, we sponsored the opening drinks, together with our friends of FatDUX. Check out our photos to get an impression of our activities.

Next year’s conference will be held in Paris and we hope to see you there! We will also be present at the Design for Conversion conference this December, so we hope to see you before the end of 2009!
