Liou Yamane

UX consultant

Liou is a user experience consultant at User Intelligence. His focus is on user experience design with interests in user research, usability tests and service design.

Before joining User Intelligence, he was responsible for interaction design and usability testing at a web company for clients such as Amsterdam Dance Event, the Dutch Institute for Image & Sound, EMI Netherlands, Heineken and SchoolTV. Prior to this he did research at the Industrial Design faculty of the TU Delft and worked a year on speech recognition in Tokyo.

Liou studied Human-Computer Interaction under Professor Gerrit van der Veer, after making the switch from Artificial Intelligence. During his Erasmus university exchange he lived a year in Siena, Italy. For his graduation project he worked together with archeologists in the north of Spain to create a mobile multimedia guide.

Liou is an active volunteer for Chi Nederland (the Dutch HCI association) where he has helped organize two conferences and is a committee member since 2010. In his free time he likes to practice some salsa moves, watch arthouse movies, visit art and photography exhibitions and listen to jazz, funk and soulful electronic music.
