Laurens studied Economics & Informatics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. During his study he mainly focused on how to increase revenue in online environments through researching and improving recommendation systems. Besides being interested in numbers, Laurens grew an interest in the behavioral side of economics and eventually the User Experiences of products and services.
After graduation, Laurens wanted to broaden his horizon on User Experience and started to work at Redmax as an Interaction Designer. At night he studied hard to gain deep knowledge in the field of human-machine interaction and psychology. Due to this broad interest, Laurens tackles problems from different points of view in order to create a balance between customer needs, business goals and operational feasibility.
Today, Laurens works as a Web Analytics Consultant at User Intelligence. He is responsible for setting up the strategy, goals and targets for online channels and defining the tactics to accomplish these objectives.
Next to being enthusiastic about his work, he loves to kitesurf, snowboard and to broaden his knowledge on work-related fields. Currently Laurens is working with his girlfriend on a iPhone app.
