Heikki Sinivaara
Heikki got bitten by the usability bug in 2000, developing user interface for a groundbreaking firewall product. A student of Software Engineering at the time, he realised that no matter how ingenious the technical solution, it would all go to waste if not presented in an intuitive way to the user.
For the rest of his studies, and in professional life after getting his M.Sc. in 2003, Heikki has focused on the end user's vantage point. His path has gone from usability testing to interaction design to concept design - and back again.
In 2004, Heikki started working at Tieto Digital Innovations in Helsinki, and for the first time in his career found himself in a company that truly put the user first. He got to work with some of the digital service industry's finest, including the future dynamic duo of User Intelligence Helsinki, Janne and Vellu.
Heikki moved to Amsterdam in 2007, working for Tieto in Amersfoort. In 2009, he joined User Intelligence, where he feels the whole team feels passionate about empowering the User.
Heikki loves living in Amsterdam, but misses the Finnish forest and its delicious produce. He plays floorball for the Amsterdam Agents and tries not to eat too much ice cream.
