Annemieke van Ruiten
Annemieke studied Cognitive Psychology at the University of Maastricht. Her internship in the field of human-computer interaction at Philips Research inspired her to follow a post-master in User-System Interaction at the Technical University of Eindhoven. This 2 year program has provided her with experience in using user-centered design methods and techniques for the design and evaluation of user interfaces of products, services, and systems.
During the post-master, Annemieke worked with a team on a project for the NOC*NSF (Dutch Olympic Committee and Sports Federation) in which they designed and evaluated a system that supports top sport coaches in evaluating the performances of sportsmen. She also worked for Medtronic SQDM, a company specialized in medical technology, where she worked on an application for heart failure patients to improve their compliance in prescribed activity and rest.
In March 2009, Annemieke joined User Intelligence as a junior User Experience consultant where she is involved in the design and evaluation of websites and applications.
In her spare time Annemieke loves to travel, especially to Italy where she likes to practise her recently learned Italian language skills. In winter, she is always hoping for some freezing weather to go ice-skating on the Dutch lakes.
